Mayra Sanchez is a bilingual psychotherapist and licensed professional counselor, independently licensed in the state of Texas. She has been providing mental health services for over 20 years. She graduated in 2006 from University of Texas Pan American with a Master of Science in Rehabilitative Counseling.   She has provided mental health evaluations and therapy for hundreds of individuals, struggling with a wide range of psychiatric disorders, including Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, depression, anxiety, grief, as well as issues related to domestic violence, anger, relationship issues, life transitions, separation from loved ones, and dislocation due to migration. In addition to providing therapy, Mayra has extensive experience providing mental health evaluations, commonly know as psychological immigration evaluations.  She has worked with immigrant children and their families through the Office of Refuge and Resettlement for over 10 years.  This population is near and dear to her as she was born in Tamaulipas, Mexico herself and immigrated to the US with her family at the age of 5.  For over 40 years, Mayra has lived and raised her own family in the RGV. She has completed advanced levels of training from the Immigration Evaluation Training Center.  Her life mission is to make a difference in as many people as she is able to reach through her work.  For Mayra, it is important to help her clients tell their story and learn to live as their most authentic self.
