Mayra Sanchez is a Licensed Professional Counselor – Supervisor (LPC-S), bilingual psychotherapist, and founder of Hope for Healing LLC. With over 20 years of experience in the mental health field, she is committed to supporting individuals through trauma, emotional challenges, and life transitions with compassion and cultural sensitivity.

Mayra earned her Master of Science in Rehabilitative Counseling from the University of Texas–Pan American in 2006. Since then, she has provided therapy and mental health evaluations to hundreds of individuals facing Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), anxiety, depression, grief, domestic violence, relationship issues, anger, life transitions, and the emotional toll of migration and family separation.

Born in Tamaulipas, Mexico, Mayra immigrated to the United States with her family at the age of 5. Her personal journey has profoundly shaped her clinical work, and the immigrant community holds a special place in her heart. She is especially honored to serve this population recognizing the unique challenges, resilience, and strength of those navigating displacement, acculturation, and generational trauma.

For over a decade, Mayra has worked with immigrant children and families. She has completed advanced training with the Immigration Evaluation Training Center. She specializes in clinical mental health immigration evaluations for Asylum, VAWA, U-visas, T-visas, and Hardship waivers.

Her therapeutic style is trauma-informed, culturally attuned, and client-centered. Mayra is passionate about helping clients tell their stories, reconnect with their inner strength, and move forward as their most authentic selves.
