Melody Alvarez, LPC

PSYCHOTHERAPIST

Melody Alvarez is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) dedicated to helping individuals navigate life's challenges with compassion, understanding, and personalized care.

She earned her Bachelor of Science in Rehabilitative Services from the University of Texas–Pan American in 2015 and her Master of Science in Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley in 2019.

Melody works with children (ages 8–12), teens (13–17), and adults, supporting clients experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), stress, life adjustments, family conflict, relationship difficulties, and emotional regulation challenges. She also has experience working with neurodivergent individuals and those navigating crisis situations or significant life changes.

Her therapeutic approach is warm, collaborative, and client-centered, emphasizing emotional safety, empowerment, and respect.

Melody is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and incorporates this approach to help clients process traumatic or distressing experiences and reduce their lasting emotional impact. She also integrates evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and expressive interventions, helping clients strengthen coping skills, manage overwhelming emotions, and develop healthier ways of navigating everyday challenges.

Melody continues to expand her clinical expertise through advanced training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and trauma-informed care.

She believes therapy should be a space where clients feel comfortable exploring their experiences without fear of judgment. Whether someone is healing from past trauma, adjusting to life's changes, or seeking greater emotional well-being, Melody is here to provide the understanding, guidance, and support needed to move forward with confidence and hope.
